The NJ70 series combines the good old with the best of the most recent. This 17-inch laptop comes standard with an optical drive for reading and writing CDs and DVDs. Plus, the laptop has something that you don’t see often anymore: a VGA port for connecting an external analog display. Nevertheless, this fast laptop uses a 11th generation Intel Core processor and therefore offers the performance of a modern computer. The 17-inch screen with good color rendering and the keyboard illumination make the laptop attractive for everyday work.

    Separate partitions

    Disk encryption

    Disk encryption ensures that your data cannot be stolen if it is turned off. The access to the data can only be unlocked with a passphrase. You will receive instructions how to change the default passphrase.

    Alle Hardwarekomponenten wurden einwandfrei installiert und harmonieren perfekt mit Linux Mint! Auch die Linux Mint Installation ist top.
    Der Notebook ist wirklich sehr leise, die Tastatur sehr angenehm und das Display ist super!
    Der austauschbare Akku war (neben der Konfigurierbarkeit des Notebooks) ein wichtiger Kaufgrund, denn andere Hersteller verbauen diesen mittlerweile fest in ihren Notebooks…

    Sturdy & stylish. Compact, yet full featured. Don’t worry if you ordered an extra SSD drive instead of a DVD drive and notice what looks like a DVD drive on the side — that’s just a placeholder – the drive is tucked away inside. A bit pricey but I was happy to pay more for a GNU/Linux compatible machine. The keyboard is excellent. The only downside I can think of is that I wish there were more USB Type-A ports.

    +: light and fast (i7+NVMe), easy to open and insert SATA disk and/or additional RAM

    -: lack of indicators (specially numlock), only one USB 3.0 port, big issues (ineffective touchpad , 2nd drive not detected) with a 5.4 LTS linux kernel so i had to install Xubuntu 22.04 instead of Linux Mint 20.3), power cord too short.

    Now there’s something i can’t talk about yet: reliability of course, the machine being brand new 😉

      Thank you for your feedback!

      You can solve the Linux Mint issues by installing the hwe kernel with the following command:

      sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-20.04

      Then reboot.

      We supply our adapters with a 1.5m power cord, but have an optional 5m power cord which could have been ordered while configuring your laptop. If you would like to still order this, please contact us. You may also find such a cable in an electronics shop nearby.

    Buying anything else, other than Clevo computers is just plain stupid. This is my 3rd one, in US i was buying Sager ones, in EU Nova does pretty good job keeping price affordable. Definitly would buy again, and i will never understand people who buy HPs, Dells, Leneovo, etc crap..
