A sturdy laptop with coreboot based firmware, Thunderbolt 4 support and a beautiful 17.3 inch screen display. These are the key features of the NS70 Series. With an 12th generation Intel Core processor and Intel Xe integrated graphics, you can now do more without a second graphics card. The 73WH battery allows you to work up to 7.5 hours without a power adapter. Despite the relatively big screen display of 17.3 inch, the weight of this laptop is just 2.25 kg. Moreover, this laptop has thin bezels, a good air-flow and an elegant and sturdy black casing with more connectivity options than others.

coreboot firmware

This laptop is very unique because of its firmware. Where other laptop suppliers use the default Insyde proprietary BIOS, we supply our laptops with open source Dasharo coreboot based firmware.

You will get 5 years of security updates which can be downloaded and installed via the fwupd application (GNU/Linux only). The firmware can also be updated via the Dasharo Tools Suite pre-installed environment (requires an internet connection via Ethernet).

Linuxien depuis la version 6.0 de RedHat où il n’y avait que l’option « texte » pour installer Linux, ma précédente expérience avec les structures adaptables Clevo remonte à environ 8 ans. Le matériel était correct mais le service après (et avant) vente n’était pas du tout de la même veine. Je cherchais depuis ce temps-là un PC portable de 17 pouces sans OS. Etant donné que je suis un peu de la partie, je voulais me réserver le droit de pouvoir intervenir sur les composants afin de les remplacer si besoin. Je suis tombé par hasard sur NovaCustom en surfant et je dois dire ici que Wessel et son équipe sont très réactifs. Après un contact sur WhatsApp des plus concluant, Wessel m’a très bien orienté (sur un matériel moins onéreux) ce qui m’a permis de commander mon portable rapidement. Après une semaine de tests approfondis, il s’avère que je suis très content de mon choix qui est un NS70 avec l’option Coreboot et le raccourci de refroidissement en cas de gros calculs du processeur (antivirus Clamtk sous Linux par exemple).
Au XXIème siècle, il est rare de trouver un vrai commerçant soucieux du client et de ses desiderata qui propose les options essentielles pour constituer une bonne configuration informatique. Le colis transporté par UPS et très correctement emballé est arrivé plus tôt que prévu.
Je recommande vivement cette société pour sa compétence et son professionnalisme.
